We’ve been up to Hume Lake area many times and finally decided to do this hike even though we drove by it more than a dozen times. The trailhead is located off of General’s Highway about 7 miles south of Hume Lake turnoff and just north and east of the Horse Corral Meadow. The trailhead begins at 7628 feet and ascends just about 600 feet during the 2.4 miles up. This trail is quite easy and if you are luck you’ll get a sunny day where you are able to see a 360 degree view.
At the top of the trail you can see various peaks. I recommend this if you would like to have a 360 view and you are in the area.
