Switzer Falls

Where: Angeles National Forest
Mileage: 4.5 miles
Difficulty: Easy
Recommended: Food for picnic,
map of area

The trailhead begins at Switzer Picnic Area. We started there by having lunch and then heading on the trail thinking it would be too windy for what we were wearing, but ended up to be a nice relaxing hike along the stream. Many families walking their dogs and playing with their children by the stream.

This hike was definitely easy and the surroundings were gorgeous. Be sure to have a map with you because there are other trails in the area that could make the hike longer if you want.

Most of the time we were by the river until passing the falls and going a little further to put in a little more mileage. This part was the uphill part, but only did a good 15 minutes on it and it looked like going further would be downhill, but we didn’t have the luxury of time today to keep gallivanting through the forest. All in all nice little hike, refreshing to be out of civilization.

Note to self: Always bring warmer clothes when in the mountains, just in case weather changes for the worse.
