After a half day of snowboarding, it was too hot to keep going, so we instead went for a short hike with nice views of Big Bear Lake. There was only a total of 300 feet elevation gain. If you are up in this area, I recommend doing this hike, there is a guide at the trail head (which we did not pick up). Along the way you can follow this guide and it will introduce to you the flora indigenous to the Big Bear Lake area. This guide has twenty numbered signs along the trail. During the small loop you will encounter piles of rocks where we stopped to climb and the views of the lake were much more abundant from the top than the trail itself.
Note to self: Pick up the guide provided at the trail head.
